i would let them join facebook, because it connects them (more) with people they know, not strangers.i love facebook, it lets me talk to people from real life.

my mom lets me have a myspace. its good for communicating with friends and sharing information, and pictures. its bad because it might get hacked, and personal information will be read. also a child should only communicate with people they know.

I let my kids have a myspace on the condition I was added to there friends list and could monitor what they do on it.

It is good for making friends meeting interesting people around the world.

it is bad because alot of kids lie about their age to get the account opened and not restricted to under 18 messages. and that causes older people to try to contact them.

I would not let my child have my-space or any type of Internet account until they are sixteen years of age and even than they would have monitored computer usage because it's very dangerous for a child to be on the Internet because of people trying to constantly advantage of them.
