Is myspace a good place for children to talk to others online? Why?

NO!! Kids can be talked to by anybody. Kids get lured into traps and can give out PRIVATE info (especialy yonger ones)

CHILDREN do not belong on MySpace. Even if your child has an age privacy setting, others in their age group can see their profile. Anyone can make a profile and claim to be any age. If you are going to let your kids on MySpace I would have their profile set to private and constantly monitor their activity.

It is not a good place for children to talk to others because the other person could be lying. You have to be a certain age anyways, but people lie when it comes to telling their are. That's why there are a bunch of things on the news about bad things happening to people because of myspace. It is not a good place for children to communicate.

well it depends on what you mean by children. young children shouldnt have myspaces oviously, but if your talking about teenagers than i guess it depends. most teens will make a myspace whether their parents allow them to or not.

is it good? yes for talking to friends and keeping in touch. and it is safe if your child is smart.

Depends on how old you are, your motives?. And why you are asking?,

On a softer note, I believe every parent needs to be involved in any child activity. After all they are the parents and they need to know.

I have been on the Internet since 92, yes they had Internet back then, hell i was learning basic, but won't give dates. There were predators back then.. It just wasn't a factor. Why because the masses were not on line, and didn't know how to run a a 486 .

If you want to run a server, for chatting, there are website that host , for free, Be involved, with your children on line.
