Both.

It depends on how it is used.

If it is used simply for the gathering of friends. How can it be a bad thing? It's checkable, it's not like it's some private area that no one else can access. For parents, there are key trackers and password retrieval systems so you can keep an eye on things in case you're a concerned parent. I simply use it to get ahold of my friends on a mutual level. I can leave them comments, read their blogs about their life, and sadly it works better than speaking on the phone simply because we have such busy schedules that collide with eachother.

Although, Myspace can also be used for the wrong reasons. It can be used by any online predators, it's also full of spam. It can also be a bad influence to those younger children using it when looking at profiles by people who don't care who veiws their profile.

Over-all... Facebook is the more safe site of the two in comparison. Personal opinion, of course.

its a good thing its not dangerous if you put in fake information. I am on it and i am 189 years old and live in Zimbabwe. It's a cool way to personalize your own website like thing. Also a good way to stay in touch with friends :D

Well it depends how you use it. If you can keep it private %26amp; only add people you know, then it's good. If you have a public one, don't post information about your last name, where you live or your phone number. If you do, that's bad %26amp; it makes it easy for people to track you down.

Just make sure you only take friends in that you know and keep everything private.

i believe it is a good thing, it all depends on how you use it and there will always be people who abuse it. i have found friends of mine on there whom i havent seen in over 20 yrs. its good to be able to reconnect.

Both. If you use it right. I think its lame that people have to go online to meet people instead of going outside and experiencing life, I think it's stupid that people talk to other people in other states they've never met and call them "good friends" and I think it's dangerous for youth because whether or not you think so, a predator can and will find you. Your info is just a button click away. However, my husband uses it for his business and I have a couple friends that use it to keep in touch with REAL friends and family that live in other countries cuz it's free to send pics n stuff.

ups are that it connects you with people and friends, with myspace i made ALOT more friends and i met my boyfriend!!! ( we been together for about 2 years) so its good!!!!
