Is Myspace a good or bad thing? Are people really are as they portray themselves to be on Myspace?

I personally have no interest in it because I don't need the world to know about my life and you don't know who is looking at your profile. It seems people give up so much information about themselves which is foolish. What are your thoughts?

I have a MySpace, and I'm myself on it, though I don't share my workplace or real name, and sometimes I'm deliberately vague about friends' or relatives' identities. It's good to vent, and I'm not ashamed of anything. I know how to handle it if things spill over into real life.

I mainly joined to listen to music, but I've seen a lot of e-quaintances there, so I friend them.

I don't friend actual friends whom I actually know in real life, funnily enough. I'd rather e-mail them or call them on the phone.

My thought it is just another tool, neither good nor bad. It is the user that should be held accountable not the tool.

I think it is bad for relationships. I have been hired for so many internet jobs since Myspace has become popular, It's unbelievable. And No if you are talking to a male on Myspace, It's probably me...hehe good luck!

Myspace, just like yahoo, is full of people with personalities or personas not even close to their real identities. As a matter of fact, I'm not really an octogenarian myself.

Myspace, like any other website, has it's pros and cons.

It's a great way to stay in contact with friends, familiy and countless other people (Much like e-mail, chat rooms and etc)

The down side is not the site, but the people using the site.

People are cunning, deciteful and are willing to hurt countless others if it hels themselves.

Profiles on myspace can be set so hat only the users friends can see the pofile, and it can also be placed so that you can only add the user if you know his/her last name and/or e-mail address that they used.

Every website can be dangerous

But what makes it that way is not the site its self, but the people who use it.
